Do I need a referral or Mental Health Care plan (Medicare)?

You can reach out without one through the contact page and we will arrange a time for a consult call or first appointment time directly. There is approximately one week wait time and you have access to unlimited sessions.

How does telehealth and phone counselling work and is it as good?

Yes! Phone counselling and telehealth still provide a confidential setting and removes the barrier that some people face with travel or living in a remote location. Plus you can have your session in your own comfort zone knowing you are safe. Most clients are finding they prefer online or phone sessions for the convenience, are able to build rapport quickly and find that they are able to express themselves in a more uninhibited manner whilst working virtually rather than face to face.

What if I'm not ready to talk about something or change something yet, but I still want counselling on other issues?

There is no pressure on topics or to create change before you're ready. It is a person centred approach, meaning that counselling goes at your pace, and the therapeutic tools and interventions are suited to your particular individual needs. Our sessions are a mutual dance, not a battle.

Anxiety with booking

It is totally normal to experience anxiety prior to booking your first session. Sometimes choosing a therapist and making that first call is the hardest step. Feel free to email, text or call to get a feel for if we are a match and you are entitled to an obligation free call prior to booking as well.

Second guessing

Maybe I'm not that bad? Maybe I don't need counselling after all? I bet others have it worse. I'll be fine... Sound familiar?

It is common to second guess yourself, but remember: You are worthy of dedicating time to healing! You are worthy of that hour of it being just about you! You don't need to be in crisis to seek counselling. Magic happens at all stages of your journey and investing in your growth and self healing is always worthwhile.

Mind blank

It's normal to turn up to the session and forget all the things that you wanted to talk about! A great strategy is to write yourself a list or dot points of the things you want to talk about. This ensures that you utilise your session so that you walk away feeling you got the most out of it, and don't feel pressure to remember everything.
